WHPA salutes our veterans! Dan Ziehli, Western District Chair has partnered with Farmer Veteran Coalition of Wisconsin to bring beekeeping training to veterans. The Farmer Veteran Coalition is a nationwide organization bringing veterans assistance and experiences in agriculture enterprises. It is free to join for any US military veteran or active duty member.
The WI chapter coalition has its first incubator farm located near Wilton and Elroy, WI. Veterans will be able start their own Agriculture enterprise with assistance from trained mentors, bankers, university assistance and many coalition partners which share discounts on agriculture equipment and services such as Dadant’s.
The Western District will be holding beekeeping classes in the field and providing beekeeping mentorship. Any WHPA member is welcome to assist. Beekeeping classes in the field and shop will be held in the coming seasons for as long as our veterans need us.
